Why are you running for Alderman?
What qualifies you as the best candidate for this office?
Since I was elected in 2013, I have made sure that the residents of Ward 10 have a voice at city hall. We have had over 60 streets reconstructed and paved in the past 10 years. I have received countless emails and phone calls from residents in Ward 10 as well as from outside of our Ward. It is important to me that all of them are handled swiftly and satisfactorily. I will continue that service when I am re-elected in November.
What are your thoughts on and plans for addressing homelessness?
What are your thoughts on housing costs and plans for addressing those concerns?
Housing costs in Manchester, as well as other communities, is very high. I have supported developers that want to build in Manchester to include affordable rates.
What are your thoughts on and plans regarding crime and public safety?
I have spent over 34 years in Law Enforcement. I know the importance of supporting our police and making sure that our residents and properties are safe and protected. I will continue that support when I am re-elected.
What are your thoughts on and/or plans for addressing concerns about property tax rates?
I will continue to make sure that our property taxes are as low as possible. I will also make sure that all of our residents receive the best services that our city provides.
What are your thoughts on the city's snow removal and trash pickup services?
I have the highest praise for our DPW employees. They work very hard each and every day. The snow removal and trash pickup is second to none. If I receive a concern from a resident about plowing or trash issues, I will reach out to our department leaders, and it is taken care of in a timely manner.
What are your thoughts on the city's small business climate?
I am very proud of our Economic Development Department. They have been working very hard with our current business community, as well as making sure that the new businesses receive a warm welcome into our city.
What are your thoughts on and plans on improving parks and recreation in the city?
We have a great Parks and Recreation Department. I would like to see an addition to the department that would have more resources for our children. It is important that we continue to find alternatives for our younger residents to enjoy while in school, after school and during their vacation breaks.
What are your thoughts on how public transportation and infrastructure in the city can be improved?
What are your thoughts on the current state of the city's civic pride and ideas on how to improve it?
As a lifelong resident, I have always had pride in our city. I am a big fan of the branding effort that our Economic Development Department is doing to showcase our community. I will continue to do whatever I can to make sure that Manchester is tops in the region as well as the Nation.
What are your thoughts on any neighborhood specific issues in your ward as well as any plans on addressing those issues?
In my ten years as Alderman, I have worked very hard in addressing concerns in Ward 10. I will continue this effort in the future. Most of the concerns that I have dealt with in our neighborhood are road maintenance, trash pickup, public safety, street signs as well as others. I have always handled these concerns as quick as possible.
What is your view on the main role of an Alderman?
Constituent service is the most important role of an Alderman.
